Elmer, NE is located 5 miles south of Orafino, NE along Harry Strunk Lake. It was founded Early Sunday Morning on May 25th 2003 when a bunch of campers decided to call a meeting and figure out a name for their new community. While the campers were in the meeting a man came through our area and asked if we had seen Elmer. He said that this winter Elmer was out walking on the ice. His tracks through the snow just up and disappeared. No one has heard or seen Elmer sense. The campers at that time starting yelling where's Elmer. With no response from Elmer the new community decided to Name there new town Elmer.
