Cream Can Supper
Cream Can Suppers are an easy way to cook food for a lot of people. You can feed up to 12 people with a small cream can. The first thing I do is start a fire with some good hard wood fire logs. You want a warm fire but not so hot that it melts the solder out of can. The next thing, I start by preparing my cream can. I put a aluminum pie pan or two in the bottom of the can to keep the food off the bottom. You can also shuck the corn and put some of the shucks on the bottom. Then I take the shucked corn and start putting them in the can standing them up leaning towards the middle of the can to create a funnel. I then wrap the potatoes in cheese cloth or put them in a lingerie bag. You can get a lingerie bag at places like Alco or Wal-Mart. I then take another lingerie bag and put carrots, onions, cabbage etc. in it. I then put the bags down in the middle of the can where I made the funnel with the corn. Now put enough braut wurst on top of it to feed every body. The last thing I do is pour a 6 pack of beer over all the ingredients making sure to have a drink out of each can before pouring it in. Then put the lid on.. DO NOT PUT LID ON TIGHT. it could blow off and hurt you or burn you. Put the can over a fire grate or use two cement blocks to hold the can above the fire. When you see steam, cook the supper for 1 hour. When you are done cooking, very carefully remove the lid slowly. There may be some pressure. Now with tongues remove braut wurt and then the lingerie bags or the cheese cloth that you have your vegetables in. Then remove the corn and your ready to eat.
