Steven, Melody, and Steve Rance (Sanner)

I moved to Bermuda right after University and got married on Oct. 7, 1989. My husband

Steven and I have been married for 14 years and have one son, Steve, who will be 10 on

February 11. He is currently in the 4 grade and loves to play baseball and soccer.

When I moved to Bermuda, I was a Fabric and then a Children’s Buyer for one of the department stores here. After 12 years of that, I decided retail was not something I wanted to do for the next 20 years. The traveling was great, but the time away from home was getting harder and harder as Steve got older. Being away every other month for a week at a time took its toll. I took my last trip to New York in August of 2001, came back and gave my notice at work, and then Sept. 11 happened. Me stopping traveling so much couldn’t have happened at a better time. I am now an Admin. Asst. for a management company of a hedge fund based in Bermuda. I love it, and have never looked back with any regrets.

I don’t make it back to Nebraska often. I have only been back twice, the first time we met up at Johnson’s Lake for pizza, which was great to see everyone. The second time I was there for my niece’s wedding. We took a drive through Eustis, which was very interesting to see how your perspective of things has changed. Was it really that small?

Take care, Melody
